Marinate crab in lime or lemon juice for 30 minutes.
Beat cream cheese, cream, mayonnaise, onion, and Tabasco together until smooth.
Drain crab, reserving its juice, and fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
Taste and add some of the reserved juice if needed.
Optional zucchini cups: Chill crabmeat. Drain if still too juicy. Select 8 small zucchini (~1½" × 6"). Cut six ¾" slices from each. With a melon baller, hollow each center and fill with crabmeat. Makes ~4 dozen cups.
